It’s that time of year again.  Decorating the Christmas tree, then turning up the heating and snuggling down in front of a good film.  Unfortunately, it’s also the season for high energy bills and the University is as prone to them as everyone else.  In the next couple of weeks the Estates’ Environment Team will also be preparing for the holidays. We’ll be doing our bit to ensure the University isn’t spending money on heating and lighting empty spaces.  We’ll be ensuring that plant is set to run purely for frost protection, and encouraging staff and students to switch appliances and lights off before they leave for the Christmas period.  Watch out for our posters and handy tips.

Please remember to switch off before you leave!Christmas switch off poster

    • Empty and switch off the fridge in your kitchen area
    • Switch off stand alone electric or wall mounted radiators at the socket
